Kwun Tong now has a population of half a million, almost double
that of seven years ago.
To meet the needs of this community, two further
clinica have been planned at Lan Tin and Ngau Tau Kok, and site formation
work has started on a polyclinic for East Kowloon in Hammer Hill Road.
In addition, the Rodrigues Report has recommended that of the four new
hospitals which Government should construct over the next ten years, a
1,200-bed general hospital for East Kowloon should be accorded the first
priority.

The opening of this hospital, and the extension of furthey
medical facilities in this area, will ensure that this community receiras
the best possible medical facilities.
