"It is for this reason that for some year certificate examinations

have had to be held on Saturday mornings when classrooms are available for

use in addition to school halls," he said.

The Director of Education has notified the 74 schools of his

intention to exercise his powers under Regulation 82 of the Education Regulations

to require them to give a holiday to their pupils on May 17 and 20.

Those schools not already notified will operate as usual.
