$118 MILLION SURPLUS RECORDED IN MAY
The Hong Kong government accounts for the month of May 1973 show
a surplus of $118 million, compared with a deficit of $13 million in May
last year.
This has resulted in a total surplus of $103 million for the
first two months of this financial year.
Total revenue for the month at $450 million was $200 million
more than in May 1972. The total revenue for the first two months of the
financial year was $774 million - 0234 million more than the same period
last year,
Total expenditure amounted to $332 million, an increase of $70
million over the same month last year,
This brings the total expenditure for the first two months of
the financial year to $642 million, which was $130 million more than the
same period last year.
