NEW TIMETABLES FOR FERRY SERVICES
Two new passenger ferry services run by the Hong Kong and Yaumati
Ferry Company will come into operation at noon on Monday (July 2) following
the completion of now piers at Shaukiwan and San Ka Tauen.
The new service between Shaukiwan and Kwun Tong will run from
6.07 a.m. to 11.55 p.m. daily at 15-minute intervals.
Fares will be
20 cents for first class and 10 cents for second class.
A flat fare of 20 cents will be charged on the new Shaukiwan-Sam
Ka Tsuen service which will operate at 15-minute intervals between 6.06 a.m.
and 11.50 p.m. daily.
The timetables of five other existing routes have also been adjusted
to improve services.
From tomorrow (Sunday), the frequency of the Kwun Tong-Central
service will be increased to 15-minutes between 7 a.m. and 7.45 p.l.
on woolidays. On Saturdays, the last ferry will leave at 1.45 p.o.
Ferry services between North Point and Kwun Tong, North Point
and Kowloon City, and North Point and Hung Hom will be operated at
12-minute intervals, while the frequency of the Central-Tai Kok Tsui
route will be changed from the present 12 minutes to 20 minutes between
10.06 p.m. and midnight.
