RECORD YEAR FOR TRAVELLERS

A record number of more than 8.28 million travellers entered or left

Hong Kong during the financial year ending March 1973, according to provisional

figures released today by the Director of Immigration.

previous year and represented an increase of 21.8 per cent in land, air and

The number of people travelling by land between Hong Kong and China

was up by 264,242 to 1,417,487.

Arrivals and departures by air numbered 2,877,774, an increase of

561,344 over 1971/72, while the number of people arriving or departing by sea
