The rates for payment for holiday pay and sickness allowance will

remain the same: for a paid holiday the same wages as the worker would have

earned if he had worked on that day; and half of that sum for sickness

allowance.

The Bill, if approved, will be enforced in two stages. The first

part, dealing with sickness allowance, will come into force as from July 1,

1973; and the second part, dealing with paid holidays, will be effective from

January 1, 1974.
