The junior leaders squadron caters for boys between the ages of 14
and 18 and has an enrolment of over 140. It serves no specific military
purpose but simply aims at providing an additional outlet for the youth of
Hong Kong through a wide range of activities, ranging from foot drill and
map reading to vehicle maintenance, sailing, canoeing and photography.
You are cordially invited to send a photographer
to cover the event which will take place at the Chatham Road Carp at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Note to Editors:
NEW SALT WATER PUMPING STATION FOR CHAI WAN
*
The Waterworks Office is to construct a new salt water pumping
station on the new seawall at Chai Wan.
With a capacity of 24 million gallons a day, the new station will
replace the old one which is no longer adequate for the fast development of
the area.
On completion, it will supply salt water for flushing to the
district and allow reclamation works to proceed in the Chai Wan basin.
Work is expected to start this summer and should take about 15 months
to complete.
