Withdrawals would be made from the Fund for equity investment in
the Mass Transit Railway Corporation which was to be sot up by Ordinance in
due courae.
"Until the Fund is exhausted and has disappeared from the Statement
of Assets and Liabilities, it is intended that interest on the matching balance
would accrue to General Revenue, as would any cash dividends from the equity
investment in the Mass Transit Railway Corporation."
RAINSTORM REPORT EXPECTED TO COME OUT SHORTLY
The Commission of Inquiry into the June rainstorm in 1972 is expected
to publish its Final Report at the end of this month or in early April.
The Colonial Secretary Sir Hugh Norman-Walker said today that
statement about action being taken or proposed would be made at the time of
publication.
He was replying to a question by the Hon. Mrs. Joyce Symons in the
Legislative Council.
The Commission has just published its Interim Report together with a
Chinese translation.
