After leaving Cyprus, Mr. Kingwell was responsible for, among other

things, the development of engineering and science courses at Kingsway College

in London. He then became Principal of Filton Technical College.

Apart from his interests in all aspects of education, Mr. Kingwell

was an active member of the Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club, Gloucestershire, the

Thornbury Rotary Club and Bridge Club. Formerly he was also interested in

sailing and riding.
