PENUMBRAL ECLIPSE OF MOON
A penumbral eclipse of the moon will be visible in Hong Kong
on January 19, provided that weather conditions are favourable.
With a penumbral eclipse, the moon does not enter the complete
shadow of the earth and the light reflected by the moon is not totally
obscured.
"There will only be a slight decrease in the brightness of
the moon during the eclipse and this may be difficult to detect by
the naked eye, +1 a Royal Observatory spokesman said.
