The method is to admit the patients who will stay in the hospital
for a short while for clinical tests and assessments. After that, they will
become out-patients, coming daily for a "blockade" dosage of methadone taken
with orange juice, which is expected to block the craving for heroin.
The scheme is to cost an estimated $2.1 million, including the
cost of premises renovation.
