DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED

The death sentence on a 19-year old youth, Chan Yun-ki, has been commuted to a term of 25 years imprisonment.
This decision was made by the Governor after taking into consideration
the advice of the Executive Council.
Chan Yun-ki and another 17-year old youth, Tsui Wing-kwong were found
guilty of the murder of Wong Yuk-kay.

The incident took place in the Shatin Pass Road Low Cost Housing
Estate on December 26, 1971.
Chan Yun-ki was sentenced to death on May 18, 1972, and Tsui Wing-kwong
was detained in a training centre.
