The first stage development, involving the construction of seawalls
and reclamation, is now about 75 per cent complete,
Tenders for the third and final stage of the runway extension, the
supply and installation of electrical equippment, will be called later this
year so that the extension can be opened in the autumn of 1973.

The contract for the second stage of
the runway extension will be signed on Wednesday,
July 5, 1972, at 12 noon, in the Conference Room
of the Public Works Department, 7th floor, Murray Building. Mr. H.D. Stead, Principal Government
Civil Engineer, will sign on behalf of the Government.
You are cordially invited to send a
reporter and/or photographer to cover the contract-
signing ceremony on Wednesday, July 5.
QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED
The Port Health Authority has announced the lifting of quarantine
restrictions imposed against arrivals from Dalat (A),Vietnam Republic. The
restrictions had been imposed because of plague.
