"These, together with the current maps and plans, illustrate the
fascinating changes and immense development which have taken place in the
history of Hong Kong," he said.
The spokesman said a section of the exhibition will be devoted
to the illustration of modern cartographic techniques now being employed
by the Crown Lands & Syrvey Office in map production.
Various maps specially designed for tourists, geologists, picnickers,
navigators, etc. will be exhibited, he added.
"There will also be an introduction to a survey camera, newly
acquired by our office, with photographs showing how this valuable piece
of equipment is used for mapping," the spokesman said.
Some of the popular maps on display at the exhibition will be on
sale at the exhibition hall.
