Addis-Martin is No. 2 Q.F. Course, Serial No. `323`, which is to be held at the Coast Artillery School, Shoeburyness, during the period 10th to 30th October, 1937.\n\n2. I am, however, to say that this course lasts 20 days and not 14 as requested in Colonial Office letter under reply, but that the Council strongly recommend that Captain Addis-Martin should complete the whole course as he would obtain little value if he attended 14 days only.\n\n3. I am to add that if Mr. Ormsby Gore agrees to this proposal then in accordance with War Office letter No. `091/2966 (F.2)` dated 2nd April, 1931, a tuition fee of £4 (four pounds) per week will be payable for attendance at the course, and it would be appreciated if arrangements could be made for the sum of £12 (twelve pounds) due in this respect to be paid before the commencement of the course to the Under Secretary of State, War Office. Wark A.A. Battalion Royal Engineers for Anti-Aircraft training in Camp from 17th - 27th July.\n\nI am in England on Home Leave and should like to attend camp with my unit. The position is that I am also a member of the T.A. Reserve under the provisions of T.A. Regs 1936 App XXVI para 2-24. This however would only entitle me to draw pay and allowances as a 2nd Lieut for which there is a Vacancy.\n\nI have now served continuously as a Volunteer since 1914. There is no personal object in asking for this attachment - in fact it will mean a considerable sacrifice and inconvenience. When I was last in Hong Kong in 1934 I was attached to the above unit which was then a practice camp at Peng Chau, and drew £1 per day and travelling expenses.",
