The difference is that his character as a Private was \"Good\", as a Sergeant \"indifferent\".\n\nI don't think a man with only a \"good\" character after 19 years service is worth 1/12 a day! A warrant officer at 1/12 a day is not wholly satisfactory conduct and should have been selected for this responsible post, specially for duty...",
