I beg to submit it was not on account of this defect but of a violent personal dislike on the part of Commander Beckwith, then Acting Superintendent of Imports & Exports.\n\nThat my pension of $126 per annum which commences on January 29th next, less reduction for Widows & Orphans Fund, will be inadequate for myself, wife, and two children to live upon having no other means of sustenance.\n\nWith reference to Commander Beckwith's personal dislike to me, I beg to state that the last office I held in the Revenue Department, I did faithfully & conscientiously do my duty as Officer in charge of the Bonded Warehouses, without any complaints either from the jodown officials, the Wine & Spirit merchants, or the Acting Superintendent of Imports & Exports.\n\nOne morning in March 1920,",
