Of her cargo, I was engaged by them for the protection of their interest in the sale of the goods.\n\nThe vessel's destination was Hong Kong, and I was on board on the 16th August. I was placed in confinement on board the Spanish Gunboat \"Buluson\". On the 19th August, I was sent from that vessel under a guard to the Gunboat \"Avayal\" and then to the steam transport \"Palino\", where I was kept until the 21st August.\n\nI was taken to Singapore, and for duly clearing that port, she was cleared and the necessary documents were obtained at the Harbour Master's Office Hong Kong.\n\nOn the 15th August 1873, we were seized by the Spanish Gunboat \"Minden\" and then sent on board the \"Marie Louise\" and kept there a close prisoner until the 22nd September 1873 - during this time I made repeated applications to see the British Consul but was refused.\n\nThrough the close confinement",
