Today, we are starting a new series of short articles on aircraft seen in Hongkong. These articles, supplied by the Aircraft Enthusiasts' Club, will be illustrated with photographs taken by members of the AEC.

The first prototype Supermarine Spitfire flew on March 5, variants of the basic design were produced, including the Seafire and the Spiteful which never went into quantity production.
The Spitfire shown in these photographs is the Mk 24 of the -- Hongkứng Auxiliary Air Force. Two other squadrons have also used Hongkong as base for Spitfire. They are No. 28 Squadron and No. 80 Squadron.
