garment these days. We would all LIKE to lead that sort of life (the maid, the boudoir, the feeling of fragility on the chaise- longue, the rose-laden returning husband, adoration in his eyes) but alas, how many of us actually do?
The reality is much more of a rush. Worn out at the end of a long day, or jaded from a session in the kitchen, over the telephone to the grocer, or at the writing table filling in tax forms, today's women couldn't conjure up the conviction needed for a dreamy negligee -or serve up dinner wearing it without looking a perfect asa.
