London stocks decline

London, Sept. 26.

The chill wind from Wall Street and uncertainty over the half-year report, due on Thursday. from Chemical Industries pushed stocks down today.

The reasoning was that if the country's biggest industrial com- plex reports a disappointing per. formance this could mean a big dent in values for other indus trial counters.

Buyers held off while the index hovered around its low point for the year and small-scale selling helped Steel whittle prices

down stocks staged a recovery show-| ing the only sign of bounce in the list.
