The 2nd Battalion, 8th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rities, under the command of Li-Col Elliot T. Horsford, ar- rived in the troopship Nevasa this morning. Returning to Hongkong after 13 years' alwuence, the Battalion is to join the 18 Gurkha Infaoiry Brigade Group. replacing the 1st Battalion. 7th Duke of Edinburgh's Own Gurkha Ritles who will return to Malaya tomorrow in the troopship on 'com. pletion of two years tour of duty.

alarm both in Southeast Asia and the United States.

Senior Superintendent Tom Cashman, former Director of the Anti-Corruption Branch and the Narcotics Bureau, salled in the Hallan Bner Asta ihla morning on retirement with his wife, after 20 years' service with the Hongkong Police Force,

The Cashmans were seen off by a large number of friends.

Born In Hongkong, Mr Cashman received his early educational St Joseph's College, until he returned to Ire. land with his late father, who retired as Chief Inspector of the Water Pollõe in 1926. He returned in 1932 and Joined the Police as a constable.
