Fantastic last-inning rally fails to give Pandas their fourth

In one of the tenseat late rallies ever seen at King's Park the Taiwan Pandas yesterday scored five runs to draw level with the Senior League champions, South China AA, but the visitors lost the match 6-5 when a suspect umpiring call by plate umpire Bill Silva handed SCAA the winning run on a silver plate a few moments later in the same inning.

A capacity crowd turned up to watch the Pandas play off their fourth match of the tour and after a short delay in getting it under way because of the customary formalities preceding the exhibition match, the Pandas sent their first batter up to the plate.
