Crowds queue

Thousands of Chinese people observing the Ching Ming Festival today visited ceme- terlen in various parts of the Colony to "sweep the tombs" of their ancestors. A queue, at one time a mile tong, formed out- alde the Kowloon rallway station early this morning (see above picture) and special trains were added to regular services to carry the large number of prople visiting New Territories burial grounds.

The chemicals, colouring agents and "pearl" concentrato used in the varnish are imported from the UK, France, the US and Japon, The polish is mixed in a laboratory and iransferred to the factory for hand-bottling, fabelling and despatch.

Locally-manufactured betiles and plastic caps are used. Exports of the new nail polish have begun to the US, Australia, Canada and Britain.

The company plans to step up production to an estimated 500 dozen boities a day.

At present the chemist in working by hand with beakers and burners but as demand grows machinery will be install. ed and the range increased.

When preliminary research is completed it is planned to produce matching lipstick.

Tite firm produces the nail varnish in 55 shades. The new nail varnish is the result of three years'study- ing and testing.
