Prices generally declined in the Hongkong Stock Exchange during the past week in contrast to the spectacular advances of the week before.

There was an appreciable easing off in most sections on Monday, a slight recovery during the following two days, and irregular move-

ment at the close yesterday.

Ccenpared with the previous week, there were declines in 20 shares, gains in four shares, und no change in one share in the China Mait list.

The exceptions were Hong- kong Banks, which galmed n good $55 at $1,905; Wharves which jumped up by $52 at $382; Wheelocks which i- Juroved by 30 cents at $15.00: and Providents which gained 10 cents at $29.40.
