RAF beat Navy to record second win in Hexangular Rugby Tournament

a Hexangular Tournament rugby match at Causeway Bay on Saturday afternoon Royal Air Force beat the Navy by eight points (a goal and a try) to nil. This game was marked by some of the poorest handling that I have seen this season, and the general standard of rugger served up by both sides was in marked contrast to that of their previous encounters with the Club and
Police.
A mauling forward battle was, whlist never getting on top of the feature of the Best half. The their counterparts did manage to heavyweight Navy pack tried get a good share of the ball in hard to subdue the RAF for the louse and their threen were wards and indeed did manage to kept busy. Shortly after the resumption Itoberts attempled n drop at goal. The ball struck the cross- bar cleanly and rebounded to Beck who scored near the posts. Weavili added the extra points end the Navy were eight points down.
From this point onwards the RAF controlled the game. The heavy Navy forwards found that the pace was too much for them
to be out of position but never gave up trying, and Orr-Ewing was the beat of the forwards.
Tower of strength
Two bottom-of-the-league
teams in fine softball match during weekend
By OLLY VAS
No surprise results were registered in the second round Junior softball league matches at King's Park over the weekend and although spec- tators' attention was as usual focussed on lengue-leading teams there was one fast and very sporting contest played off between two bottom- of-the-table sides.
In this Junior game the New Asia College boys triumphed over the Wolves to the tune of 21 runs to nil, the winners coming up with an error- less performance,
One of the three Japanese boys in the team, Furdole, was the first batter up and pitcher Castro folled, to find the plate, walking Furdate on four balis.
Countryman Tashiro then laid down a bunt along third base and the slow-rolling ball caught the Wolves' infield flat-footed, Furdote going all the way 10 third on the play.
Allen followed suit with other bunt, this time in the direction of Brst base and Fur- dole scored, Toshiro going second base.
to
Catcher Takahashi, one of the previous season's nominees for the Most Valuable Player award, then banged one of Castro's slow pliches to centro- field and both Tashiro and Allen scored to put the Colle- glans up 3-0.
