Remarkable rise of brass rod manufacturers
By Alexander Thomson
(Often the health of individual firmus gives a clue to the economic · health of a nation. Here Alexander Thomson talks to the head of a firm intimately involved in Britain's economy.} London, Nov. 2. "Our kettle is still on the boil.” That is what Mr William Ogden says of his £25 million Delta Metal Company of East Greenwich, It is a remarkable concern. In seven years its profits have climbed "from £988,000 to £2,879,000.
And for this year, so Ogden tells me, he hopes they will be nearer the £3,500,000 line.
At 63, he is a combination of necountant and industrialist und has been the main driving force behind this expansion.
