400 students are admitted by Vice-Chancellor

It was by no means a small distinction or a minor achievement to gain entrance these days to an institution of higher learning, said Dr L. T. Ride, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hongkong in welcoming Matriculants this morning at the Matriculation Ceremony held in the Loke, Yew Hall.

Why Duddell Street is restricted

About 400 students were ad- mited to the status of under- graduate by the Vice-Chancel- for after they were presented to him by the masters and wardens of their respective halls.

With traditional ceremony the Vice-Chancellor's procession en- tered the Hall filled with candi- dates for matriculation in their bottle green aendemle gowns.
