New York, Sept. 13. Baseball Commissioner Ford Frick an- nounced today that the 1960 World Series will start in the park of the National League champion on Wednes- day, Oct. 5, provided that there is no playoff in either League.

Frick also announced that the days after the second and fifth games will be left open for travel and rest, regardless of where the series is played.

Barring a League playoff, the Grst two games will be held in the National League city on Oct. 5 and 0. The venue will, shift to The American League Park on Oct. 8, 9 and 10, and then revert to the National League site on Del. 12 and 13, If necessary.
