A wedding service in sign language took place at Canvey Island, southeast England when a deaf and dumb couple, Valerie Sherwin, (21) machinist, of Canvey Island, and William Reynolds (31), shoe machinist, of Thundersley, Essex, were maried.

Although neither could hear it, the service was fully choral. The bride had asked for this so that it would be as nice as possible for the guests."
