A new textile mill,
Japan enterprise, in Kun Tong,
The new plant, called the New Territories Textile Mills Ltd, will have 10,400, spin- dies and 220 looms, all im ported from Japan.
Construction work is ex-j pected to be completed by the end of September,and. production will start in mid- October'.
Occupying an area of 80,000 square feet, the mill will turn out cotton yarn and cotton cloth.
The Hongkong party to the new venture is the China Dyeing Works Ltd., who holds 60 per cent of the shares.
Of the remaining 40 per cent, 30 per cent belongs to Nissin Textile Mills, and ten per cent belongs to the Nichimen Co. Ltd. Both these firms are among the biggest in Japan.

The management will be in Chinese hands but the Japanese will assist in tech-) nical know-how.
This is the textile, mill in which Japanese intereste have their biggest share in Hongkong.
A reliable source told the China Mall that so far the Japanese have an interest amounting to only about five per cent in the local textile industry.

Tetatively called the Hong- kong Baning and Payroll Protective Association Ltd., the organisation has a staff of 40¬ and five varig. specially co115- tructed for security transport.
