Defendant Wing-ko, living in 122 Belcher Street, third floor. He had five previous convic- tions, three of which were for theft.
Sub-Inspector A. G. White- hend told the court that in November, 1958 the Fung Keung Rubber
Lid, deposited 180 bales of rubber on the premises of the China Provident Co Lid and from time to time they drew upon this stock in the course of business.
On July 1, this year, a check was made of the stock and 20 bales were found missing.

A lone former from the Chin Shan district across the Macao bor-
der, successfully eluded Communist officials, hid himself' in a forry, fully loaded with vege- tables for the Macao market, and found free- dom here yesterday.
As soon as the vehi. cle arrived in Macao the stowaway jumped off the truck and rom for safety, with the driver and his assistant hot on his heels.

Chan claimed that the formI was presented to him for his signature by a broker, Wong Tam, aird that he did not know the content of the form.
Chan also cenfed that he knew the driver had been convicted of careless driving.
The plaintiffs were represent- ed by Mr Richard Whiter, in- structed by Mr J. C. A. Slack.
