Two catchwater tunnels, each about a mile long, are to be built in the hills of north Island for the west Lantao Shek Pik reservoir scheme. Construction work on these tunnels will begin in about two months' time,

They will bring water, from the proposed new catchwaters in north west Lantao to the Colony's biggest reservoir now under construction at Shck Pik.

One of the tunnels will be built from the Keung Shan area to the Shek Pik valley while the other will run from Sham Wat to the new reservoir.
