LOSES HIS APPEAL

Wong Chun-shek, a. labourer, who slashed and disfigured his fiancee because she changed her mind about marrying him, had his appeal against a four- year sentence dlamissed by the Full Court this morning.

The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Hogan said the Court had read the judge's findings and saw no reason to interfere with the sentence.

"On completion of your sentence, you'll be able to take up your position in society again,” Sir Michael .said.

Wong pleaded that he had spent a great deal of money on his fiancee but "she still had some other man," and he was very upset and angry.

"I had the same experience before," he said. On that occasion, he added, he was not so much upset because "I was hoping to get a decent girl again.”
