The first saddling bell will be rung at 1.30 p.m. and the first

race will start at 2.00 p.m. sharp.

The two sections of the Hyde Park Handicap for Class 2 ponies over the distance of one mile will form the high- lights of the day's programme.

Mr Liona Thoc-soon of Kuala Lumpur. ነ promising novice Jockey is now in Hongkong and will be seen in action tomorrow,

Here are my estimates of the chances;

PROMISES CRICKET

Bridgetown, Dec. 17. Peter May, captain of the MCC team to tour the West Indies, maid on the party's arrival here today that their aim Was to play bright exleket,

ile sald he expected to see the young side produce high- class fielding, and forecast that the team would also show strength in the depth of the balling.

"To all my old friends in the West Indies, and to the new ones I hope to make, I would like to say how pleased I am to be returning here after six years," May said.

"Our fast bowlers, Freddie Trueman, Brian Statham and Alan Moss, were also here on the last tour, but yon wli) ser our new batsmen. slow bowlers and wicketkeepers.”

Pointing out that the team was young and comparatively Inexperienced. May declared: "We hope we shall do well, bul we have no Blusions about the size of our task. Being a young team, we should be really fit, and this should show in our fleiding which we expect to rise to a high level.

"Our aim is to play bright cricket, and I do not think you will be disappointed, for we have several attracÜve players."-Reuter.
