BRIAN LONDON'S SUSPENSION CUT DOWN TO 3 MONTHS
London, Aug. 12. The British Boxing Board of Control today remitted three months of the six-month suspension imposed on Brian London, former British heavy- weight champion, for fighting Floyd Patterson.
In June, the board had suspended London for six months and fined him £1.000 for having challenged Patterson for the world title contrary to their instructions.
London was knocked out by Patterson who later lost the title to Sweden's Ingemar Johansson.
Mr Teddy Waltham the Board secretary said London had apologised to the board and had under- taken to comply In future with the Boards regula- tions. The suspension will now end on September 10. providing the £1,000 fine is paid by that date. --- Reuter.
