Russian fashions, they are never which fantastic and never flippant French fashions sometimes are.

Soviet fashions are, however, progressive, colourful, individual. They do take note of the new trends each season, and the elegant Muscovite is interested in what's going on in the fashion world.

This year, the Une is far less severe. There are big, soft collars, pretty, full sleeves, wide straped belts. all combining to give an im pression of gentle femininity and bidding fare- well to the tailored schoolmistress look.

Tie low waistline is slowly Jying. * Russians have their own chemise Bne-but they wear it with a suggestion of a waist. The high bustline is accentuated with broad bells, pockets, bows, trimming or gathers. The chemise is piya- lar not only as a dires, but worn as a two-piece.
