Two major upsets, both in the first division, featured the Colony-lawn bowls league matches during the weekend. In the first of these, senior division league leaders Indian Recrea- tion Club "A" were given a bad jolt in their title bid by Filipino Club, who firmly established themselves as the giant-killers in this year's league by outbowling the Indians at the Kowloon Bowling Green Club by four points to one. Brabham Leads All The Way
New star in the motor-racing world, Jack Brabham, increased his lead in the world drivers' championship recently by winning the British Grand Prix at Aintree in a Cooper-Climax. Second, in a BRM, was Stirling Moss whose chances were spoilt by a 31-second wheel-change and another stop for petrol, Brabham averaged 89.88 mph.
