THAT WEMBLEY HOODOO
HOODOO BRITAIN CAN BECOME
Now It's Allan Brown's Turn To Overcome It
By TOM FINNEY

one
At half-past four in the afternoon of Cup Final Day, 1953,
100,000 strong turned as the Wembley crowd man to watch Stanley Matthews slowly climb the steps to receive hiis winners' medal. Blackpool had just beaten Bolton 4-3, after trailing 1-3 with 20 minutes to go. Stan had given probably the greatest match-winning performance seen in British post-war foot- ball."

TAIWAN RUGGER TEAM AGAIN FAIL TO ARRIVE
By PAK LO
The Taiwan rugby team have again failed to arrive.
As the rugby season is now for all practical purpenes over and the Taiwanese who are still having visa difficulties have not yet left Kaoshiung, the IIKRU sent a cable to Taiwan this morning stating that it had to inform the Taiwanese with much regret that It is absolutely impossible to entertain them on a tour this season.
However, negotiations are now in progress for a possible visit to Talwan by a Colony XV either this year or next, and the HKRU hopes to be able to give further details of this tour in the near future.
In our morning contemporary it was Inndver- tently Hlated that the Army Cup final would be played this afternoon. This is erroneous, and the game will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) after- noon on the Police ground in Boundary Street at 3.00 p.m.
