The eighth Race Meet- ing of the Hongkong Jockey Club at Happy Valley last Saturday turned out to be another favourites day with top favourites taking the winning stand in no fewer than six events.

Top photo shows one of the favourites King Rider (No. 3) ridden by Kenny Kwok finishing an easy first in the Tate's Pass Handicap for Class 8 ponies over the distance of one and a quarter miles.

The main attraction of the afternoon, however, was the Pearce Memorial Cup event for Class ponies over the champion distance. This was won hy King's Parchment owned by the Yam brothers and ridden by Kenny Kwok, to give the holder of cash sweep ticket No. 1146888. the

first prize of $960.722.
