Stone Age Pottery Found In Colony

Neolithic romains have been found in tho

Colony.

The neolithic period is the later stone age when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed.

The remains found in Lantao included pieces of

pottery.

These will go on

exhibition at the Fung Ping Shan Library on December 10. The exhibition will last six days.

The site of the neolithic remains was discovered by Dr Solomon Bard at Ma Kok Tsui, near Silverming Bay.

Dr Burd was a member of the University Archaeological Team.

Prof. S. G. Davis, Hoad of the Archaeological Team at the University said the Hongkong Covernment had contributed to the cost of the excavation.

A local company had undertaken to conduct Carbon 14 tests for an accurate dating of the pattery and other finds.

A raport would be published after full and com- plete studies had been made.

Dr L. T. Ride, Vice Chancellor of the University will open the exhibition on Docomber 9 at 3.30 p.m.
