He was expected to organise bis Cabinet within the next month and observers thought he may stay on for another year or so before stepping down in fovpur of a younger man.

Based on the latest vote count coming in, the line-up of reals an the House of Representativen would give the Menzies ari- ministration 75 or 70 against 40 o 47 for the Labour Party.

Italy To Decide

On Future Of Test Tube Births

Rome, Nov. 23.

The Italian Parliament was faced today with the problem of deciding whether or not artificial insemination is a penal crime in this Roman Catholic country.

Two Neo-Fascist: Depuiles have introduced a draft Bill calling for one-year gaol sentences for any woman forind guilty of having submitted herself to artificial Insemination.

A similar punishment would befall the woman's husband, K he gave his approval, and to any person co-operating in the act.

by The Bill was introduced Deputies Giuseppe Gonella and Clemente Manco.

It will be a difficult problem for Parliament to solve. It will have to choose between the pre- eedent of a Court decision and the condemnation of the Roman Catholle Church which con- Biders artificial insemination crime "ngainst naturni inw."

BIRTHPLACE OF MOVIES RAZED

New York, Nov. 23.

A spectacular fire today destroyed the world's first motion pictures studio, built a half- century ago in Fort Lee, New Jersey, when the town was the centre of the film industry. Now used as a warehouse for television scenery and props, the four-storey cinder-black structure was re- ported on fire in the early morning.

Nearly two hours later, the blaze was under control, but the Lamed building was a mass of rubble and blackened walls. One minor injury was reported.

Assistent Fire Chief Fletcher Creamor conservatively estimated damages at between $500,000 and $1 million.
