Sparkling Rugger By RAF And Club
STRONG SECOND HALF
RALLY GIVES CLUB
A 14-6 VICTORY
By PAK LO
In a sparkling game loaded with thrills from start to finish the Club "A" XV on Saturday afternoon beat the RAF by 14 points (one goal, three penalty goals) to six (one dropped goal, one penalty goal at the Club stadium. On the same ground earlier in the afternoon Club "B" fell to the Lancashire Regiment by eight points (one goal, one penalty goal to six lone penalty goal, one try) in a rather scrappy match, main outstanding point of which was the emergence of Woodward the Lancashire full-back as a place-kicker of the highest order.

Also Outstanding
Also outstanding in the Lancashire XV was their lincou forward, who for his grey hair, easily outjumped his own forwards not men- ten the Club "B's,"

Club 'A' v. RAF
Both XV's showed one or two changes, but they made little difference to the result
. Both
teams were excellent and little fault can be found with either, but it is even more difficult to select from this stor- studded game the outstanding players.
For the RAF, Marlin in the centre was again tile main dan- ger with Coombes outside him always ready to join in in a devastating attack.
