GOALKEEPER SCORES GOAL WITH ONE KICK!
Grimsby, Oct. 16.
One of the most remarkable goals ever scored in first class football came in tonight's match between Grimsby Town and the Czechoslovak club, Dynamo. The Czech goalkeeper, Dolejal, scored direct from his own penalty box in the fourth minute.
A short goal kick to a full back was returned to him, and Dolejsi booted the ball hard apfield. Aided by a strong wind, it soared high, bounced once on the edge of the Grimsby penalty box, over the head of the advancing Grimsby goalkeeper and into the net without any player having touched it.
The only previous record of a goalkeeper scor- ing in Britain dates back to 1900, when Charles Williams, of Manchester City, scored against Sunder-- land with a prodigious goal kick.
Result of tonight's match was; Grimsby Town 2 Dynamo (Prague) 2 (half time 2-2)-China Mail Special.
