Premier Karami Asks Strikers To Forgive And Forget

By LARRY COLLINS

Beirut, Lebanon, Sapt. 25. Lebanon's new Promier, Rashid Karami, said tonight this nation's four and one half months old rebellion was over and said he expected all U.S. forces to be off Lebanese soil within a month. Karami said he thought the American troops would leave without being förmally asked by his government, In his first day in office, Karami said the rebels would start tearing down their barricades and going back to work tomorrow.

Speaking in the shell-pocked home of Beirut rebel leader, Saeb Salam, Karami said he hoped all supporters of ex-President Camille Chamoun would follow suit.

Karami then went on the air in a nationwide broadenst appealing to all factions to forgive and forget, and try and get Lebanon back to normal.
