Macmillan Wants Private

London, Sept. 25. RIME Minister Harold Macmillan and today the British Government was "willing to help secure a Bettlement of the Formosa dispute by diplomatic negotiation,"

Macmillan's statement after more than two hours of talks with Trade Union leaders, followed reports by diplo matic sources that Britain was using her "good offices" to promote a negotiated settlement of the conflict.

"Talks are etfi continuing in Warsaw," Macmillan said, "and it is not clear that a discussion in any other forum at this stage would contribute toward a solu-
