NHINESE Nationalist warships sank 12 Communist torpedo-boats in a 90-minute sea battle near Quemoy early today, the Defence Ministry announced. Thirty Nationalists were reported killed or wounded,

No Communist casualties were announced.
The battle started shortly after midnight and raged for about two hours in the darkness, the Defence Ministry anid.
