'
Da Tuesday evening at 9.80 p.m. we begin the find of d series "Night Shift” in which the work of men and women in the Colony who work by night is described. Tuesday's programme tells the story of a typical night in the Waterfront Police Station, one of the newest stations of the Hongkong. Police Force, and also one of the buslest. Ted Thomas, who wrote and produced the programme, used microphones and tape recorders in the Station itself to produce the Bound picture of its workings and organisation. We will visit the Charge Roop to hear the suspects brought in, charged and finger-printed. We hear the duty N.C.O. briefing the night-bear constables before they start their rounds. There will also be n sound picture of a raiding party which went through the boarding houses and across the rooftops in search of dangerous drugs. The many hours spent on this programme emphasise the human side | of Police work-thé prompt answer to a call for help, and the pride with which the men who police our City carry themselves, whether on or off duty. "Night Shift"-No. 1—"The Waterfront Police Station" is from 9.00 to 9.30 on Tuesday evening.
