Mr Chou Yang, vice-chief of the Propaganda Dopart- mant of the Control Com- mittoo of the Chinese Communist Party, urged 2,000 writers and artists in Shanghai yesterday to respond to the nation- wido upsurge that was showing itself in all fields of production, the New China News Agency re- ported today.
