Says "RAPIER”

The Hongkong Jockey Club's Eighth Race Meeting of the current season will be held tomorrow at the Valley. It is hoped that the weather will be fine. Even if it does not continue to rain, the track will be on the soft side with the incvitable result that the going will be slow, in which case upsets can be expected.

The first saddling hell will be rung at 1.30 p.m. with the first race starting at 2 p.m. sharp. There are eight events on the programme, the most important being the two sections of the Taipo Pass Handicap for Class 3 ponies over the mile.

London.

The international rugby season has only recently begun In Britain, yet I am already prepared to bet that no country will win the Triple Crown this year. The reason-England and Wales are already out of the running, having drawn at Twickenham, and neither Ireland nor Scotland look strong enough to beat both of them. Now the Triple Crown is a mythical trophy which can be won by any one of the four home countries of the British Isles. To succeed, a country must defeat the other three in one season.
